Sunset Cliffs Proposal - Nick & Hannah
Some moments don’t need direction. They just need space to happen.
Nick planned a surprise proposal for Hannah at Sunset Cliffs — one of those places in San Diego where everything naturally slows down. Open ocean, soft light, and just enough distance from the city to make it feel private.
He didn’t want anything overcomplicated. Just something real.

The Moment Before
When we arrived, everything felt calm.
They walked along the cliffs, talking, taking it in — nothing felt rushed or staged. This is usually my favorite part to photograph, because you can feel what’s coming, but it hasn’t happened yet.
Nick had the ring ready, quietly waiting for the right moment.
He also wanted to add something personal to the experience — a custom champagne bottle to celebrate right after. We planned that together ahead of time, making sure it felt intentional but still effortless in the moment.

The Proposal
When it happened, it was simple.
He got down on one knee, right there overlooking the ocean.
No distractions. No big setup.Just the two of them, fully in it.
Hannah’s reaction was immediate — real, emotional, completely unfiltered. The kind of moment you can’t recreate, and shouldn’t try to.

After the “Yes”
What I always tell my couples is this —the proposal isn’t just one second.
It’s everything that comes after.
The first hug.The way they look at each other. The moment it actually sinks in.
Nick and Hannah stayed in that space for a while — laughing, holding each other, not rushing into anything else.
We brought out the personalized champagne and let the moment unfold naturally — no pressure, no posing, just a quiet celebration that felt like them.

What to Know About Sunset Cliffs Proposal
Sunset Cliffs is one of the most beautiful places to propose in San Diego — but it’s also popular.
That means choosing the right day and time matters more than people expect.
Weekends and sunset hours can get busy, especially in peak seasons. But with the right planning, positioning, and timing, it can still feel completely private.

Planning Something Like This
Most of the couples you see here felt the same way before reaching out:
Excited. Nervous. Not sure how to actually make it happen.
You don’t need a perfect plan.
That’s where I come in — helping with location, timing, and how the moment unfolds so it feels natural, not staged.

A Quiet, Real Moment
Nick and Hannah’s proposal wasn’t about creating something impressive.
